At our headquarters in Monza, at via Premuda 17, the A2 Italian exams take place in collaboration with the University of Rome Tre for the certification of Italian as a foreign language (L2), necessary to obtain “carta di soggiorno”/long-term permit. Below is the calendar of the upcoming sessions 2026 and the opening dates for registrations:

Italian A2 Test Monza – When and how to Enroll

The next exam is on October 6, 2026, registrations will open on August 27, 2026 and will close on September 16, 2026.

Registration is by appointment; to book an appointment it is necessary to write to testitaliano.monza@cgil.lombardia.it. Registration takes place at our office (via Premuda 17 in Monza).

Required documents

To register, it is sufficient to have an Italian identity card or a passport. However, we recommend bringing your health card and residence permit on the day of the appointment.

Cost of the A2 exam, preparation course, and simulation

The cost of the Italian A2 exam is 40€. Diritti Insieme association offers a preparation course (requires the membership fee to Diritti Insieme at a cost of 20€) and a simulation of the exam. Below are the dates for the next preparation course and the next simulation:

  • Course Date and Time: 17th, 22th, 24th, 29th of September
  • Time: 2:30pm or 5:15pm
  • Location: CGIL Monza, via Premuda 17

  • Date and time of simulation: 1st of October, 2pm
  • Location: CGIL Monza, via Premuda 17

How the exam works

The Certit A2 Italian exam consists of four sections: listening (listening to an audio recording and answering questions), reading (reading a text and answering questions), writing (writing short texts), and speaking (participating in an interview based on a simulated everyday situation).

The Listening, Reading, and Writing sections last a total of 2 hours. The Speaking section lasts 15 minutes.

You pass the exam if you achieve 60% of the total score in the Listening, Reading, and Writing sections and 60% of the score in the Speaking section.
